I wasn’t sure whether I’d find many fresh photos during a stroll through Alsa Woods this afternoon, but I took a camera with me anyway – old habits die hard! The sun shining through the boughs of the trees was creating some wonderful contrasts of light and shade and it struck me as a monochrome kind of day.
To test my theory I set my camera into mono mode and looked for scenes I felt would work well. Having found a handful of pictures which suited this approach I converted the RAW files to monochrome when I got home, using the same high contrast look as the in-camera mono mode, but with a little more creative control.
