City contrasts
It seems a lifetime since my last trip into London, on 28th February. Today a small group of us from the camera club caught returned to the capital for a spot of photography, not knowing quite how it would seem after the events of this year.

I couldn't resist this bright orange moped, parked outside St Helen's, Bishopsgate
The train was pretty quiet, as were the streets. Not quite the ghost town of the lockdown period in March and April, but I was amazed how one could just stride across the road pretty much anywhere without worrying about the traffic.

A reflected selfie of our little band of photographers!
We worked our way south through the City, ending up beside the River Thames, photographing anything that caught our eye on the way.

Dusk on the River Thames

I mostly focused on architectural subjects on this occasion. With far fewer people about, street photography would have required more time than we had today. When we reached the riverside we found a spot with some opportunities for people photography though. On the terrace outside one building we found two couples using the mirrored windows to help them practise their dance routines. Let’s face it, on a beautiful sunny day like today who wouldn’t prefer this to being stuck inside a dance studio?!

All great, but #5 is amazing. I think this one might make one of your intersting cards. Glad you had a happy time with your photographic friends.
