After my shift at Hatfield Forest this afternoon I took the opportunity for a short walk before heading home. The low winter sun had disappeared behind some clouds but the merest hint of light caught the trunks of the dormant beeches by the old gravel pit. I had a play with some intentional camera movement, which is always a hit and miss experience. This shot jumped out at me when I checked through them, with the blue light of dusk from above and the warm oranges of the fallen leaves on the ground.
