For the fourth roll of film in my pinhole project I had the promise of some blue skies and sunshine, so I took the opportunity to shoot in colour. My chosen film stock was Kodak Ektar – the perfect choice for a sunny day.
As luck would have it, the sun coincided with my trip into Bishop’s Stortford for a dentist’s appointment, so I had the double excitement of being able to take photos in a different location for the first time in weeks. I took a stroll along the Stort Navigation, shooting the narrowboats and bridges.
My rookie error that day was not taking my glasses with me, so winding the film on to the right spot was a bit of a lottery. Mostly I got it right, but I still took one semi-double exposure by not quite winding far enough. It may be completely accidental, but I quite like the juxtaposition of a tree with the bandstand!
My chosen subject to finish off my roll was the graffiti under the motorway bridge, which I photographed the following day. The vivid colours have come out well and I also took the opportunity to shoot an intentional double exposure for my final frame.
