Snow Geese Hunt

by Abigail Gossage April. 07, 2018 1250 views

We went out looking for large flocks of geese to photograph in the hopes they would flush and give us photo ops. In the search we covered large swaths of Eastern Ontario flat farm land and indeed found at least two different sets of snow geese. When they do flush the sight is spectacular as in this case upwards of fifteen thousand birds were in the air and on the move.

While patiently waiting for the geese to take flight I looked around. As can be seen we are still freezing here. Spring? What spring?

One of the geese resting fields belonged to this prosperous farm.

#1 - Wow-factor!
#3 - I love the structure and angle as well as the play of shadow and light - perfect in monochrome!

Thanks, Sigrid.  In spite of the bitter wind we had a good time.
