Hogs Back in Winter

by Abigail Gossage January. 26, 2020 621 views

This city is wonderful for local photograhy; one of its great locations is the Hogs Back rapids below the dam. The day I went the water seemed to be even higher and more raging than in spring. Very dangerous but wonderful to shoot. As can be seen, the opposite stone wall is layered in ice at least six inches deep.

Great shots of one of your favourite haunts.  They really capture the power and the danger.

Lot of power there not to be underestimated.

Absolutely!  Add in the roar of the water and it is quite terrifying.
