Early Morning Walk by the River

by Abigail Gossage May. 18, 2021 590 views

The morning walk started with crossing the Alexandra Bridge. It was interesting to see the difference in the light as usually I cross the bridge in late afternoon rather than at dawn.

In the still of the morning Parliament Hill is beautifully reflected in the Ottawa River.

Once off the bridge I took rue Laurier rather than the riverside path as I wanted to see if I could find the end of a closed off road. This track runs parallel to that road and is usually inaccessible but the gate was open so in I went.

I did return by the riverside path, walking directly into the sun.

The path passes by the iconic creation of Douglas Cardinal, the Museum of History...

...with its wonderful stairs...

...curved walkways...

...and its curved walls mimicking the curves in the natural world.

Along the way this bunny came out to forage for breakfast.

Of course there were tulips!

Back home across the Alexandra Bridge...
