The walk in nature (see previous post) actually had a destination. Every few years we go up to the high land to see the old long-unused hunting camp. Fortunately a new roof was put on the log structure some years ago so it is in quite good shape. It evokes the imagination of visualizing the pioneer life of whoever was the first settler on this land,

Very good pictures that work so well in black and white

Thanks, it was very nostalgic and prompted us to do some local research.

I love the B&W images- especially the interiors. The whole series gives a feeling of this being a special, isolated space.

Wonderfully evocative images.  Sometimes you come across similar cabins in Sweden.  We used to visit Sweden a couple of times a year, but since the Pandemic we have not been able to.  Your images remind me of those visits - similar landscapes.

It leaves me wondering  about why he ended up here.  Things must have been grim in Scotland in his day.

Indeed, it set us to doing a bit of research which can be a bit of a rabbit hole!

I love the pictures and story Abby!  Thank you!!  Being greedy, I'd also love to see the pictures of the cabin and clearing in colour ;)
