After the Quarry

As we were already out and about, we decided after the non-event that was our trip to the Tatlock Quarry to stop by the Purdon Conservation Centre on our way home. The bog at Purdon is locally famous for its ladyslipper orchids in June so we were not expecting much for this time of year - just a pleasant walk on the boardwalk.

The ladyslippers did not disappoint - their fading leaves provided us with shapes and textures and colours.
