Fourth Grade - Fractions Block

by Great Oak School October. 12, 2017 891 views

The fourth grade class started introduction to fractions by drawing and painting the compass rose, which in itself is a task in carefully dividing the north/south and east/west axis each into quadrants. They began fractions by getting familiar with the terms of the numerator and denominator and the relative sizes of fractions. The students have been using food as a way to have a visual model of. They used the INCH ruler as another way of looking at parts of a whole and also made visual models with circle paper.
