Foggy Morning On The Way To Shannon Airport

by Gregory Ricks December. 05, 2010 2945 views

As we were driving a mile or so from the Shannon River, we watched the mist roll in from the river to isolate the power station and various points in its environment. Nearing Shannon Airport, I found the sun peering through the fog. I've tweaked this photo to dramatise the sun.

Flying near to London, the fields, hedgerows and streets give an organic sense to this late afternoon scene. The plane banks to the left and suddenly my window moves skyward to fields of clouds rolling off into the blue of the sky.

Mist rolls in from the Shannon River to create a soft landscape around Moneypoint Power Station & the surrounding farms.

I tweaked this foggy sun to create a painterly appreciation of thhis landscape.
