Day 357: FESTIVE day at school.

by Guillermo Huerga Borrego December. 30, 2018 77 views

The end of December arrives and as every year in the school of my children begin the acts of celebration of the Olentzero tradition.

It is a typical figure in Basque mythology that can be compared to the figure of Santa Claus. In this case, it is a charcoal burner that poinsettia enters our homes on Christmas Eve and the children who have behaved well leave gifts and charcoal to those who have behaved badly.

Among the acts the children enjoy traditional games, dances and in the end of the afternoon a rich hot chocolate and talos.
