In my CAD Engineer career, I have also carpentry experience.
I've been working for D&A Project Ltd - Interior refurbishment company. One of their services was the production of bespoke furniture - especially for hotels - like Champneys Hotel & Spa Resort.
I was responsible for the site survey, taking dimensions, measure space for the new furniture on-site. Based on it, in consultation with the interior designer, I was preparing a drawing of the furniture to present to the client. Once it was approved I was creating technical documentation for our carpentry workshop. I was very important that carpenters could easily read my drawings, find information about board sizes, connections of the parts, etc.
It was an interesting experience because I was directly involved in the whole process, from the first measurements on-site to control the production until the final installation.
