68/365 ~ Pets ~ Our Beloved Ben

“Nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless he’s owned a dog. A dog can show you more honest affection with a flick of his tail than a man can gather through a lifetime of handshakes.” ~ Gene Hill

This is our best boy Ben, who we lost just over a year ago. I loved looking for these pictures and reminiscing. Ben and his buddy Willy, both golden retrievers, figured out how to pull cucumbers off the vines and feast on them throughout the season. I always grew more cucumbers than I could possibly use – for the dogs and the neighborhood cows.

He was a beautiful dog! Never heard that dogs eat cucumbers, but why not, my dad's dog used to eat peeled uncooked potatos grinning

He has stolen my heart just with one look. So gentle,so sweet. Sad he had to go.
