I saw this wonderful specimen of Romanesco Broccoli in the grocery store today and decided that it would be my subject matter for most of this week as I explore macro photography with a variation of techniques. Hopefully, this will last for at least a few days as I study it to find the best option for a great macro photograph.
These two image were shot with my 50mm prime lens. I did try using my extension tubes and my Tamron 2x tele-converter, which I usually have pretty good luck with. Those images didn't turn out so well so I will need more practice and patience. The focus has been the most difficult. I want to get even closer and have a very sharp image. Stay tuned for more images this week.
This stuff actually looks better than it tastes and I'm a broccoli lover. I expected it to taste incredible, but it was mediocre.
I'll be working my way through an e-book on Macro Photography this week called Close Up & Macro Photography, by Ed Verosky. Check out the link if you are interested. I'll let you know how it goes.
