220/365 ~ Melon Season

by Heidi Egerman August. 08, 2018 337 views

Melon season is upon us. This one is not quite ready but we’ve been harvesting cantaloupe and watermelon. There is nothing like fresh melon right off the vine. I look forward to it every year.

Ha ha. I should make a post of my disasters like MY tomatoes. I got over zealous and pruned the first batch very heavily, hoping to grow those single stalk tomatoes I’d been reading about. Well, you can’t trim that main stalk. Each of those plants had ONE bunch of tomatoes - and no additional growth. All the energy went into growing those five tomatoes. I have pictures somewhere which I’ll share. Very sad little plants. So I still call this the practice of gardening. I’ve never mastered tomatoes, but I don’t like them as much as other things.

So sorry to hear about your tomatoes. I would be angry too.
