Since I am traveling very light and taking very few clothes on my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage next month, I am sure that I will be doing some laundry daily or every few days.
This little Scrubba bag is said to make this task a little easier and faster. It is called the world's 'small and lightest washing machine. It only weighs 153g (5.4 oz) and every gram/ounce counts. I did debate as to whether this was a must or a nice-to-have item.
How it works: 'Scrubba nobules technology' helps you achieve machine quality wash in just 3 minutes. You fill the bag with a few items. Fill with water, your detergent (see image below) and scrub the clothes on the bumps on the inside of the bag, which act like a wash board. After a few rinses and extra scrubbing, wring your clothes well, they are ready to be hung up to dry. Hopefully they will be dry by the next morning to pack or wear. I also bought Travelon's laundry soap sheets since they were also very lightweight.
Is it a must? I'm not sure but will let you know. I will check in with our dear friends and my Camino travel companions. They are hiking the entire 500 miles and should be on the trail as I write this post. If you are interested in following their journey see: Shaddoecamino on their photoblog site
