Kale. Cabbage. Swiss Chard.

Kale. Cabbage. Swiss Chard.

I have planted more seeds than in past years. It is still too cold to plant anything outside here in Idaho. I should be able to plant cole crops and peas around the first if April.

I like the photo it fits to the challenge topic of garden. Are you growing kale for the first time? Does it take so long to grow that you plant it already in March?
Here in Germany curly kale isn‘t harvested until after the first frost. Maybe you have a different variety pehaps its been genetically  altered?

Hi Lee,
Kale is pretty frost hardy, but I won't plant it outside until mid-April (in about a month). I have started several types of kale and cabbage in this tray. Once the weather warms up it grows fast. Then it gets almost too hot for kale here in Idaho.

Actually one if these is a type if kale. I got the seeds in Spain. The plants will eventually be as tall as I am, although I’m sort of short. Still, tall for kale.
