Monochrome Monday ~ Dahlias

by Heidi Egerman March. 25, 2019 750 views

"Who would have thought it possible that a tiny little flower could preoccupy a person so completely that there simply wasn't room for any other thought." ~ Sophie Scholl.

I am captivated by the dahlia flower. I wintered 25+ bulbs and bought another 15 more at the nursery. The tubers have been potted up, and are waiting for warmer days. I am hoping that they all sprout. In the past I've not had very good luck with the dahlias I dug up, saved and planted in June. This year I'm giving them ahead start in the greenhouse.

Brilliant camera work!
The mono treatments certainly highlight the structures of the blossoms, so well!
However, as a personal preference, the colors of the blossoms of Spring are so compelling, it's difficult for me not to
to revel in them.....but that's just my personal taste, such that it is.......(((grin)))

Lovely images!
I really love #1, Delicate for a flower!
My artistic side would have been tempted to fade it a bit more for a softer look.
Love the quote too! Good work Heidi!
