Monochrome Monday - Unfolding

by Heidi Egerman April. 08, 2019 385 views

I love how the rhubarb leaves unfold in early spring. They start out in a tight ball and unfold like an accordion into one of the biggest leaves in the garden. I’ll be having my favorite pie in no time.

Addendum: I thought more about this quote and although I originally liked it I do believe there is a 'big' plan for my life. It is an unknown adventure just the same.

I love #2 and #3 - I didn't know that about the leaves, so I love the progression in the set. Plants offer so many great metaphors once you get to know their ways. Very cool!

I'll be honest, I prefer the colored ones. For me the monochrome is too dark doesn't entice me. #4 the colors are sharp.

Thanks Camilllia. Color versus momochrome, in this case, is certainly very different. The monochrome was chosen as an abstract to show texture. Certainly not very enticing. 😏 And I appreciate ’honest’ comments. 👍

#2 such a cool texture. and #3 is quite a study of green with all of the shades. Rhubarb is something I hope to explore a bit more one day althought I do love them in pies.

Thank you Russell,
Some consider rhubarb a BIG noxious weed. The plants are very reliable and determined. I always have more than I can possibly use. The first sign of spring for me. My favorite pie is a rhubarb custard pie which is a recipe from my grandmother.

Love rhubarb! Especially love to peel & eat the stalks raw!
Lovely series & sentiment.
I can relate!

Thanks Jay. I don’t know to many people that like it raw. Very brave.
