Unfortunately I had to'reset' my hibiscus plant this year, because last autum I missed the moment 'Jack Frost' came around.
Outcome was, it lost most of it's leaves and that ones, which remained, looked awfull. When I took it from the balcony into my rooms, it really was near to death...
So, I cut all remaining leaves from the trunk with the hope for recovery. During the winter nothing happend, I often was thinking about throwing away this ugly naked 'stick'.
Beginning of march I discoverd the first little green leaf on the trunk. This saved the 'stick' for being trashed.... :)
Meanwhile it is placed again on the balcony and during the last two weeks, where we had fantastic whether here in the mid of germany, (sometimes up to 30ºC what is around 86ºF), a lot of new little green leaves were growing and I now think, we've made it.
Of cause, it is far away from what it was last year and I don't expect any blossoms this year, but hopefully next year again.
This macro of a hibiscus pistil I made last year, the details did remind me of scenes from science fiction movies and games I've seen, therefore I called it
'Little galaxies'.
I like this photo very much, because of the shallow depth of fields and the fiery red color.
I think, this photo was one of the reasons, that I tried to keep the hibiscus alive. :)
Wooooooooooow
