Catnap

by Heike November. 05, 2017 2095 views

I knew that Puffy, the neighbours cat, would come for a nap on saturday afternoon. He does this on a regular basis. So I placed my camera beside me on the couch and did some work on my notebook.

After a while he appeared as expected, jumped onto the sofa and forced me, to put the notebook aside, so that he could make himself comfortable on my lap. Five minutes later he was asleep...

My goal was, to make a photo with a sharp paw and in the background his blurred face - and I got what I wanted :-)

For the post processing I used 'Analog Efex Pro 2', I wanted to have this analog touch with a little bit dust and scratches.

Great photos! And what a cat, he does what he pleases and doesn't bother at all grinning

Hehe, thanks Piotr. He is a little devil and he totally controls me - although I'm 'only' the neighbour....smiley

Thank you ! Hehe, yes the perspective in #1 was only possible, because he loves to sleep on his back. smile

His paw does somehow capture his cool personality! And his blurred face adds to his mysterious cat power :-)

Kind thanks, Sirena Lu ! The first one is also my fav, he loves to sleep lying on the back, what always animates me to scratch his belly - he already showed me clearly, that he does not like that... pouting catgrin

Thanks so much, Caroline ! Luckily he is one of this cats, who often changes the position while sleeping. I love it, when cats are sleeping on their back, than they look all so irresistibly cute.  smile

Many thanks Peter. Often I need lots of tries, when I'm doing post processing, but this time I knew from the beginning, how they should look at the end. grinning

#3 reminds me of my wifes old cat . He use to sleep like this . #1is my favorite. My cat is finally comfortable enough with me moving around or grabbing the camera I can now catch pictures of her sleeping . She adopted us and was feral from birth but now she is a member of the family but retains some of the feral traits when someone new comes over.  I would say that the choice of post processing is purrfect .

Thanks for your comment, Russell. It's really seldom that a feral cat is adopting humans, you must have a unique aura, that this cat trusts you so much.
Puffy is normaly a very jumpy cat, but surprisingly he does not care much about the camera, therefore it's easy to shoot him. There are other cats around here, where it's really hard to get a good photo of them. grinning
