New kid in town...

I always thought Puffy, the neighbors cat, does not accept other cats in his territory and was surprised to see him outside playing with a ginger cat the last few weeks. Some days ago I noticed the little ginger guy on the garage roof, where he was watching birds. I don't know why, but I like this first motive more in b&w than in color.

But it would be a shame not to show him in color, because he has a beautiful fur color. (I guess it's male, because 80% of all ginger cats are male.)

He is very shy, but after observing that Puffy often runs into my apartment, he also inspected it one day and promptly stole a catnip pillow. Seems he is a little thief and catnip junkie...

Thanks Helen!  Meanwhile he trust me so far, that he no longer carries the catnip pillow outside. He comes in without any noice, ignores me completely, goes to the carpet where the pillow is, plays a bit with it and goes out again (still ignoring me.) smile Yes he is really a character.

Thank you Kay! His eye color is actually like in the photo #4. More blue than green. It's really a beautiful cat.

Thanks Jim! Glad you like it. This guy is really sweet. He doesn't like to be touched but he loves to play with a cat catcher teaser. However, I already also saw him outside with a bird in his mouth. I wish he would leave the birds alone, but well, cats are hunters...that will never change....

what a handsome little face! I take care of some community cats and I have one indoor/outdoor cat as well. My little boy annoys the community cats so much that they dont seem like they enjoy his company but from time to time, I'll go outside and find them all napping peacefully on my patio as if they'd always been friends! I really like that first shot, it seem to capture his adventurous spirit. smile

Thank you and sorry for late reply ! Cats are always funny to watch. In earlier times I thought I'm more a dog type, but since I live in a ground floor apartment I get regular visits from all neighborhood cats and I love it. smile

Thanks for your comment! At the moment I really have problems to get me motivated, Camellia. I still make photos, but I'm often not in the mood to upload them or to visit pb and write comments. Maybe my mood changes sooner or later, I just don't want to force myself too much, because at least it's just hobby. smile

Heike, you are a cat photographer extraordinaire as well as a very good story teller! I like the out-of-focus one, too but #5 is my favourite. I like the angle plus the sepia tone brings out a certain peacefulness. Are you sure Puffy is okay with the new cat getting all your attention? grinning Thanks for sharing these.

Thank you Greg. #5 has a bit a dreamy touch, right? I made it from above, the cat was sitting in a corner. The balcony has a privacy textil  protection on one side and on the photo it was shining over the cats face. This made the face a bit soft and dreamy and you are right, quite peaceful. Puffy really seems to like this cat, he always greet it with a little bump on the nose. And I always give him a bit more attention than the new one, so that he has no reason to become jealous. grinning

I love cats and all above images (including that is out of focus), especially #6 to me. Green leaves enhance the handsome guy. grinning

Thank you Tsao. Since I live in this apartment, several neighbor cats appeared here during the years and made me laugh with their different characters. I don't need an own cat, although I would like to have one. But I'm afraid that could bring stress to Puffy, who is the official "head of territory". ( He decided, that his territory is including my apartment.) smile

I had 5 cute cats. One of them is still alive although he is old now. I think he is the last one to me. It needs much time and patient to care a pet. Maybe get friendly with neighbor cats is a good idea.smile
