121/365 Yellow-headed Blackbird

by Helen Anders May. 02, 2021 97 views

I paid a visit to a nearby marsh where the yellow-headed blackbirds were busy singing away. Unfortunately, as they tilt their golden head backward, the song isn’t all that pleasant. Many birders consider it one of the worst in North America. Beautiful birds!

Love this Helen! What an awesome capture. I don't think we have yellow headed blackbirds around here. Or if we do I have never seen one.

They love to hang out near marshes along with the red-winged blackbirds. They are beautiful but their vocalisations are not very melodic compared to the red wings. Thanks, Camellia! 😊
