Stained glass windows and exvotos, Notre-Dame de Grâce chapel, Honfleur F14

This sailors' chapel is one of the oldest. It is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin for the protection of sailors. On Pentecost Monday is held there the great feast day of sailors. Richard II of Normandy is the origin of this chapel: During a storm, he asked the Virgin Mary to save his life and promised to build 3 chapels. Since he went out the shipwreck, he kept his promise. In 1023, he built 3 chapels: in Saint Valery en caux, Fécamp and on the plateau de grâce in Equemauville.
