Green Acorns

These diminutive, bright green acorns caught my eye while out on a walk the other day, so I picked a few up and took them home. They are starting to fade to brown now, but when they first fell, they were a beautiful shade of green.

I almost missed this cluster of nearly perfect specimens hidden in the moss at the base of a tree.

A day later, the bright green was beginning to fade, but they are still lovely.

These are great captures! All the one I have seen here are brown and not so photogenic.

Thanks. They are unusual.  I think it's a different type of Oak tree that produces these bright green acorns.
