This area was part of a planned development in my community that never happened. The original developers declared bankruptcy, so the project was never completed. There are slabs where town homes would have been built, and a clubhouse that was never completed. The site was recently purchased, but the town and some community residents are fighting with the new developer, so this little subdivision remains in limbo.
The situation is not so good for developer and homeowners who have to look at it every day, but not bad for the water birds who nest nearby and photographers like me who love to photograph old broken things.
Ironically, the puddle on this building slab reflects a house that was completed about 15 years ago. The storm clouds seem to me to be a portent of the controversy sounding this area.
There is so much controversy about this subdivision that I have chosen not to share it on my Facebook page, as some outspoken residents have received letters from the developer's attorney. Still, as a photographer, I believe that there is a visual story here that needs to be told.
