Tonight, there was a gingerbread house making time in our dorm's lounge. It was a nice break from studying for finals. My inspiration came from the Sydney Opera House. Can you see the resemblance? I also wanted to build the tallest structure out of everyone else, so I added the licorice tower. I added frosting on the roof to make it look like snow, and red and green Skittles for decorations. There are also three bears on the roof. Making the sloped roof was the hardest part. I had to use massive amounts of frosting, much to the chagrin of my friends and fellow gingerbread house makers. I added red and green sprinkles for the finishing garnishes. There were prizes for the best houses; I won 3rd place, while my friend, Philip, won 2nd, so that was exciting. It was funny how everyone ran around trying to get the candies and the licorice and the little frosting there was. I felt like I was in an Iron Chef show. All in all, it was a good time to take a break and relax a bit, while brushing up on my gingerbread architecture skills.
