The week before the last day of school, the eight graders took a day off from classes and participated in an array of different activities. They started off with the awards ceremony, where various department and elective awards were presented to the students for their hard work throughout the year. Afterwards, the 8th graders had their first graduation practice, and then went to the 8th grade BBQ. At the BBQ, students were offered either a cheeseburger, a hamburger, a hotdog, or a veggie-burger, with sides of fruit and chips. The day then closed with the 8th graders' last decades performace for Hillview's 6th and 7th graders.
