Day 22: Sunset

by Scott March. 03, 2010 2702 views

I finally made it home in time to capture a stunning sunset. It's amazing how quickly the sun sets below the horizon!I had just enough time to grab the camera & tripod; scurry up the side of the house to the rooftop; mount the camera on the tripod; level the tripod…you get the picture (no pun intended). The fiery orange color was beautiful. As the sun began its decent, I started a series of rapid fire shots to catch it as it just sunk below the horizon. Little did I realize the “bonus” that I would get as a hawk fluttered into the picture.Location: Fayetteville, ARCamera: Canon · EOS Digital Rebel XsiLens: Canon · EF 300mm f/5.6-9.0

Great capture with the bird flying in the last one! Even got a good angle on his wings so you can see them really well. Nicely done!

Oh, man, I'm a sucker for sunsets - and these are superb! I made the last one a favorite because it had the bird in it, too!
