Indianapolis - the Venice of the Midwest... just kidding... but the city does have a lovely canal that runs through parts of downtown and makes up an urban state park, White River State Park. The canal walks takes you past apartments and condos, at lease three museums (by my estimate), restaurants and a monument to Medal of Honor recipients. On nice days the walk is used by runners, walkers, cyclists and sightseers, and it's not unusual to see kayakers paddling it's waterway. It's also a popular location for wedding, engagement, and senior photos.
