While working on Project 365 last year I took the first photo, thinking "beauty is where you find it." The truth of the matter is that litter, trash, is not beautiful. It's a health hazard and too much of it, and too little action to do something about it affects your emotional and psychological well being. Becoming complacent about your environment brings you down and you start believing that living among all that trash and litter is all that you deserve. It's not.
The second photo is of all the trash Steve and I picked up on our walk today. Most of it was picked up along the route between our apartment and the main entrance of our apartment complex. I'm guessing this bag weighs about 20 lbs.
We did this in honor of today, Earth Day. But we need to do this EVERY day. It's time to walk the walk.
