Tri Yas

A PB for me in this Olympic distance tri:
2 hours 34 mins something seconds - I amazed myself!

but the bike was not a full 40 kms, 2 kms short I later discovered.
Still … I'm really happy with this time.

It was an afternoon tri and a twilight run was great, it meant the weather was not too hot and definitely a contributing factor for faster race times.

The ‘highlight’ of this race was going to shoulder to shoulder with another cyclist whilst going around a corner. I was trying to overtake.

We were cycling on the Yas Island Formula 1 race track, and this guy had headphones on, unbeknown to me, so couldn't hear me saying ‘on your right, on your right etc. etc.

Luckily we both managed not to crash, and, it would’ve been bad. It was only as I looked back to say phew, that I saw his headphones.
Audio dope!

and it's illegal in tri racing.

on the way to Abu Dhabi & Yas Island, & I'm so happy to be in the back seat for a change.

Setting up in the transisiton area is reasonably chaotic.

The view from my bike.

My new, oh so much faster bike. It helped me to embrace cycling a bit more.

There's a triathlon on tomorrow. They are closing the road for the whole day so i can't go out.
