244. Your Eggs Are Ready

by Jarvo Laysell July. 18, 2009 4963 views

The moth eggs that were laid just a couple of weeks ago [photoblog.com]have now hatched. There are now lots of tiny little caterpillars. You can get a good idea of just how small they are by looking at the size of the eggs compared to the moth in the last post. Hopefully some of these will grow to full size and then become vapourer moths themselves. I fear that many of them won't make it though. Already on the next leaf is a hungry looking spider who I suspect would love to have some freshly cracked eggs for breakfast.

At first, I thought the title of your post was a great contender for one of the worst pick-up lines in history, and then I looked.
Hmmm.
Very impressed by the technique!
