262. The Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells

You've now seen the cities of Bath and Wells. For those who don't know, here is the reason behind the title of this post [youtube.com].

… I would like to have one just the same as that, where ‘ere I’d go they'd shout hello….

A pavement plaque provided by a proud town. When you walk along the area that has been marked out it seems incredible that anyone could jump that far.

Our tribute to Mary Bignal Rand.

The same picture cropped and rotated. Lessons from this exercise:
1. Whatever type of tripod you have, get a bigger stronger one.
2. Try to take shots like this on a perfectly clear day - It's amazing how the slightest of cloud movements can alter the light between one shot and another.
3. It would be best not to do this on market day when there are loads of people milling about.
4. When doing the Gimp business (or whatever your choice of software) pay close attention to the shadows and be consistent - either put them all in or leave them all out.
5. Take more shots that you think you'll need to give you greater variety to work with.
6. Try to find someone that can jump 22 feet in a single leap and not take three jumps to make the distance ;-)

… you plan to…

… pinch your dad's beer…

… it is probably best to wait…

… until he's drinking fizzy lager…

… rather than…

Sneck Lifter [jenningsbrewery.co.uk].

The product of a mis-spent youth.

Anyone for a game of Pass The Pigs?

I've never really been a rugby fan, but this is just about the prettiest sports ground I've ever seen.

Awesome set, Jon. Yes, the series of your son and the beer is hilarious, but I also like what you did with that action/pano shot. Nice work.
