91. The Slightly Disturbing Feeling Of Discovering That Your Adolescent Son Is Considerably Bigger Than Your Childhood Hero

by Jarvo J April. 01, 2010 4839 views

The guy on the left is my son Cliff, regular visitors to this blog will be well aware of him. The guy on the right is Derek “Killer” Hales, the greatest ever scorer for my football club and my childhood hero. Earlier in March the two met. It was quite a surprise to learn that the guy who I'd always thought of as a man mountain was smaller than our kid.

In Cliff's hand is a drawing of Killer, that will be part of his coursework for GCSE Art. The squiggle is where he got it signed.

Very sobering observation, my friend. My mother always said it's just not right when your physician and your pastor are younger than you. Both my children are older now than I was when we had them. . .
Nice looking young man!
