I'm not really one for taking pictures of flowers. It seems to be simultaneously too easy and too difficult. It's too easy because they are so beautiful that pictures of them should automatically good. But its too difficult, because how can you really improve on the original. It takes a truly special photographer to take pictures of flowers and make them look fresh and exciting. That's why I rarely try - I know I'm on a hiding to nothing. I am not of the ability to take shots that good. That said, I am more than willing to learn, so if anyone has any advice it would be more than welcome.

I know what you are talking about. But isn´t the same with all kind of photography? How often I stood in a beautiful landscape and was later on disappointed about the output.
In any case this is a good job on flowers with an outstanding No 3

hey you know.. they look absolutely gorgeous to me! the color of the flowers is rich and very purple..I know what you mean.. but I guess we can take it on a different angle.. with the background of the sky or perhaps any good background.. but your picture has already achieved it. Believe me. :)

Colour is so deep that it looks almost unreal... I think it would look great as a canvas print.
