I do not normally consider myself to be easily shocked, but there have been three news stories in the past couple of weeks which have genuinely staggered me. In each one people have followed their beliefs and/or colluded with others to commit some atrocious acts. They do not make pretty reading:
Story No.1 - A man in Tanzania was jailed for the abduction of an albino man. [english.aljazeera.net] He had planned to use his body parts for witchcraft. In the past three years at least 53 albino people have been killed in Tanzania so that their body parts can be sold to witchdoctors.
Story No.2 - A suicide bomber in Baghdad killed about 50 people and injured 100 more by detonating a bomb. [economist.com] The victims were looking for work.
Story No.3 - A report has been published stating that a Catholic Priest paid a major part in a bombing campaign in Northern Island in the 1970s. [irishtimes.com] The Church and the British Government colluded to get the priest transferred to The Irish Republic to avoid a messy investigation.

terrible, don't read such stories Jon.
