Easter Hatchlings

by Jarvo J April. 24, 2011 3395 views

These little spider chicks have hatched just in time for Easter. The eggs must have been in their cocoon since last Autumn, but now they are up and running about. At the moment each are no bigger than 1mm across, but soon they (or at least a few successful ones) will be magnificent Garden Spiders with the best webs in the garden. Hopefully I'll be able to post regular updates on their progress.

If you're not to squeamish, these shots look better enlarged.

Spider chicks.....is that what they're called?? Oh well, all things have to carry on....the "circle of life" and all that. Great captures here, Jon!!
