Thanks very much to Ricky who came to my rescue and identified this little beast. It is the fly eriothrix rufomaculata, one of the Tachnids [tachinidae.org.uk].

      [i] Eriothrix rufomaculatus[/i]? I don't know..I can't see the abdomen correctly ))) but it is a tachina fly

      it is a tachinidae fly jon ;) go look after the specie..and it is a parasite! I hate when they are on my caterpillars! grr!
