The Longest Winter

by Jarvo J March. 13, 2013 5273 views

The weather in England isn't noted as the world's best, but in the last year it has been appalling. Summer was almost non existent and winter seems to have dragged from September to March with no respite from the cold and the damp. Now in March we have snow. Will it ever right itself or have we ruined it forever? Time will tell.

Going nowhere. Train in front broken down.

Going to the station to go nowhere.

Oh, and I hope it doesn't disrupt things too much.

My birthday's next week and I remember it snowing at the time when I was a kid (and actually liked the stuff - how we grow). I like your palm trees in the snow and those amazing stalactites (easy to remember - tights go down...), but I think I'd rather enjoy them from a safe distance.

WHOA, are those palm trees along the waterfront?? How do they survive there??!!

Dreary, dreary weather! Interestingly it's the grey skies I see and remember well from living in Michigan... months of never seeing the sun... I think I could tolerate the snow if the sun would only shine as it does some places.

The last shot is really interesting... what exactly is it?? A wall covered in vines??

Love seeing my old home Jon ... thank you!
It was worse in the early sixties ... for three continuous months.
