I have to say that I (Jewels) am very lucky to have this view from my window. I get to wake up every morning to it and be reminded of God's word. I haven't lived my whole life in Peru, I have lived here for 3 years and before Peru, I lived in Houston, Texas. So as you can imagine the views going from concrete buildings to huge, beautiful mountains are truly amazing. Waking up each morning to a mountain like the one above has reminded me of what the Word says in Matthew 17:20 "He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will impossible for you." The verses before Jesus heals a demon-possessed boy and later on Jesus and his disciples were talking in private and the disciples asked Jesus, "Why couldn't we drive it out?". Jesus then responded with Matthew 17:20 saying they had little faith in themselves to cast out the demon. Jesus tells them if they just have faith as small as a mustard seed then they could move mountains. That begs the question, how is your faith? Do you have little to no faith that you can do the things of God or do you faith like a mustard seed knowing in the strength of Jesus and in His name you too can move mountains? I am a very direct person, you can anyone who knows me so I will tell you the truth and the truth is that I have had to work on my faith. Moving to Peru wasn't the easiest thing in the world but moving God has strengthened my faith in Him. Now I don’t have a huge faith, I would say my faith is like a mustard seed because God has broken me and has brought me to my knees calling out to Him and to have more faith in Him. I know the faith I have in Him right now can move mountains and I want that for each person I know in my life. You just have to ask for the faith in Him as it says in Mark 11:23-24 "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." If you believe in what you have asked for and have no doubt in God that he will fulfill your prayers then you can do anything. But some of you may think "well Jewels, it's not that easy to trust and have no doubt." and I would agree but you have to remember everything is done in God's timing, not yours and whatever you ask in His name you will receive it. One saying my parents and pastors always say and tell me is "speak as though it is" which comes from Romans 4:17 "As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom be believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not." and that constantly reminds me to trust God and to have faith in Him even if my faith is like a mustard seed. Because moving a mountain from one side to the other or throwing it into the sea is not impossible in God's eyes. I have personally seen a lot of things that seemed to be impossible made possible by the power of God and the faith the person had in Him. In Luke 1:37 it says "For nothing will be impossible with God." Just remember that mountain that you see in that photo you can move if you have faith like a mustard seed. I ask again how is your faith? Where are you at with your faith? I am continually growing in my faith every day and I encourage you to do the same.
Yours truly, Jewels
