This is a geyser near a little town in Peru named Pinchollo. Standing close to it you begin to sweat due to the heat and vapor. It is so beautiful but the ground around it will burn you if you touch it. I touched it and I got a little burn on my hand. I brought my dog with me and she couldn’t walk on the ground near it because of how hot it was. The coolest part was the water flowing down the mountain to the geyser, it was freezing cold, and when it got to the geyser and it was boiling hot. A little ways past the geyser the water was lukewarm. The way the water flowed starting cold then hot then lukewarm, made me think of most Christians' lives. They get saved, on fire for Jesus, then they slowly become lukewarm. When I was visiting the geyser the first thing that came to mind was the Scripture about being hot or cold in Revelation 3. It made me think about my own life whether I am hot or cold. Am I hot and on fire for Jesus or am I cold and walking against Jesus? That is a question I have been asking myself lately. Am I wanting a life for Jesus or do I want a life without Him? The Scripture in Revelation 3:15-16 says, "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Jesus said because the people of Laodicea were lukewarm he spit them out of his mouth. They were influenced by the surrounding people and that’s how they became lukewarm. I don’t want to be lukewarm to the Lord. I have seen people walk away from the Lord after walking with Him for 30 plus years because they became lukewarm. But I know with help from my parents I can be on fire for Jesus because I know what my life could be like without Jesus. I don’t want Jesus to look at me and say "Away from me for I never knew you" (Matthew 7:21-23) "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell then plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" I want to hear "Well done good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21) "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" What do you want to be for the Lord? Hot or cold? How do you want to want to live your life for Jesus?
Yours truly, Jewels
