Although both promote fairness, the difference between equality and equity must be emphasized.
Equality achieves this by treating everyone the same regardless of need, while equity achieves this by treating people differently dependent on need. In Romans 12 verses 5 through 6 you see the example of equity, not equality, which says "So in Christ we, though many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith." And in 1 Corinthians 12:12 says "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ." There are two perspectives the kingdom and the world. The kingdom perspective is equity and the worldly perspective is equality. I, Jewels, as a Christian choose to follow the kingdom perspective of equity and I believe that’s how the world should be.
Yours truly, Jewels
