Have you ever felt like your life is like the photo above? Being completely put together in one area and in complete ruins in another area. Well, I know my life has been like that and honestly sometimes I am still like that. I am constantly working on the broken areas of my life so I can do better and rebuild the walls of my life to make me be a better person in Christ. It can be hard to rebuild those broken areas of your walls, that’s why you need someone to help you. Who has God given you to help; parents, pastors, spouse, friends, boyfriend or girlfriend? They all can help you IF (and that’s a big IF) you allow them. When looking at the photo it reminds me of Nehemiah 2:17 when Nehemiah was talking to the officials about his plan that God had given him and it says this, "Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace." Nehemiah is straightforward by saying that Jerusalem is in ruins, that’s how we have to be in our own lives. We can't sugarcoat the bad or the ruins in our lives, we have to be upfront with it so we can tackle it and put it in shalom. In the other part of the scripture, Nehemiah says "Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace" Nehemiah gives hope to rebuild the wall so they are no longer in disgrace. It's the same in our lives, we have the hope of Jesus Christ and His unfailing covenant love for us. He desires to change our lives with His truth and power of His word. It's not the easiest thing to do in this world but with the help of those around you and with the power of Jesus Christ that lives within you, you can do all things (Philip 4:13). So let me ask you; What areas of your walls are broken? Where do you feel disgraced? Ask the Lord of all creation to expose the places that need to be addressed. Rely on His truth and those he has placed around you to help rebuild those areas.
Yours truly, Jewels
