This is the third part of this series called "The soils of the heart". The third seed is the seed that fell on the thorny path in Luke 8:7 that says, "Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants." This scripture for me is referring to a person who is in the faith but they still have ties to a family member or a friend who isn't a Christian. That person who isn't a Christian is feeding so many lies to the Christian friend or family member and they do well for a while but eventually they get choked out. How does that apply to your life? Do you listen to what the world says more than what the Word says? Are you slowly being pulled away from the faith by the things of the world? If you are honest with yourself and answer honestly to those questions then ask yourself this; what can I do better to be securely rooted in the Word? I don’t want to be pulled away by the things of the world. I want to be discipled by my pastors so the enemy doesn’t have a hold on me. I encourage you to stand firm against what people of the world tell you because the enemy can use that to destroy you. Even if that means you have to cut off close relationships. The Word says in Matthew 12:48-50 "He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother." If your family and friends are not doing the will of the Lord then there will be a separation between you and them. Don't be discouraged if that happens because God will give you spiritual mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters who are doing His will to help you in your walk. It's your choice. What will you do? Will you be choked out or will you take out those thorns so you can thrive in the ways of God?
Yours truly, Jewels
