Lao tuk-tuk

The minute I arrived in Laos and saw these, I loved them. I wasn't going to be happy until I had had a ride in one. It may be uncomfortable bumping around on the hard seats as you drive along the unsealed roads whilst holding on to your bag for dear life to stop it bouncing its way out the back, but it is really good fun
The only time I saw a car taxi was at Vientiane airport; the tuk-tuk is the Lao alternative. They can vary slightly in size but all seem to have the engine of a lawnmower and most seemed to conk out halfway through the journey to the annoyance of the driver who would then kick, stamp, and cajole it to start again.
