Hmong boy, Laos

by Jennifer Patience August. 28, 2007 1752 views

The Hmong are one of many ethnic minority people in Laos. They have a troubled history and many of them left the country after the communist take-over in 1975.
This boy lived in a village around Phonsavan in the north of the country and we were able to visit them when we took a trip to the Plain of Jars and the bomb sites.

One of the great things about having a digital camera is the instant playback of your photograph. It helped break the ice with the kids in the village and once they had lost their apprehension of the camera they were more and more curious to see themselves.
