Il Duomo, Agrigento

Agrigento is built on a hill and the narrow streets and alleys twist and turn. After a huff and a puff up what seemed like hundreds of steps I made it to the Cathedral of San Gerlando.
Building work started in the 11th century but it has been added to throughout the years. Inside, the cathedral is said to have a whispering gallery, it is so quiet that at the back you are able to hear something being whispered at the entrance.
