PS: Photographs in this series are taken with Maoqing's Olympus 700 Digital instead of my usual Fujifilm FinePix F31fd. The Combined Platform Ladder can extend to a length of 30 metres. It is mostly used for firefighting operations involving high-rise buildings or large areas. It can also be used for height rescue. The Fire Engine is fully equipped with rescue and firefighting equipment. The vehicle can carry at least 4 persons. Sleek and all-terrain Red Rhino is designed against the stereotypical image of fire engines. Also known as the Light Fire Attack Vehicle (FAV), this formidable vehicle can manoeuvre into places such as every corner of a HDB void deck or the warehouse interiors where no traditional fire engines have gone before, taking fire fighting capability to a whole new level. It is equipped with a hydraulic system for rescue tools, a water mist gun and a water monitor. The Singapore Civil Defence force (SCDF) Crest has the prominent international Civil Defence triangle. The equilateral triangle symbolises the three main areas of Civil Defence — fire safety, first aid, and rescue and evacuation. The state shield is set on the triangle, which is garlanded by a laurel of leaves, signifying the formal status of the SCDF as a national organisation. The laurel, with a ribbon, represents the honour of service in the Civil Defence. These are supported by a banner with the inscriptions "Civil Defence Singapore".
